Ask Walker and Neumann What They Would Do Without Recovery Act Funding

Posted 18:33PM on February 17 2010 by Amanda Villa | User Comments (13)

As we mark the one-year anniversary of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, the largest jobs-creation bill in a generation, it’s shocking to see so many Republicans denouncing the bill while relying on it to plug holes in their own budgets.

Nowhere is this more evident than Scott Walker and his Olympic-caliber flip-flop. While writing an op-ed for the Wall Street Journal titled “Why I’m not lining up for stimulus handouts” he has heavily relied on those very funds, including $130 million in his last budget.

Republicans like Scott Walker and Mark Neumann continue to criticize the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act without telling voters how they would have solved budget deficits without those funds.

That’s why it’s up to us, as Wisconsin voters, to ask them. Send an email, write on their Facebook wall, or contact them on Twitter and ask them how they would have fixed budget deficits without funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Would they have really turned down the countless jobs for firefighters, teachers and police officers that were saved by the act? Would they have turned down the infrastructure investments that have strengthened Wisconsin and created 44,000 jobs?

It’s up to you to ask.
