The Opportunity: As a Convention & Party Affairs Assistant, you will help with the planning and execution of both in person and virtual events, including our largest event of the year – State Convention. You will serve as the main point of contact for our local County Parties, party units, and members across the state of Wisconsin. You will be their live help desk to ensure their requests and questions are answered promptly and/or directed to the correct department within the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. Additionally, you will work with the Party Affairs Director and finance team to administer the membership program to ensure data accuracy as it relates to State Convention.
Job Responsibilities:
- Attend and assist in the planning and execution of in person and virtual events, including, but not limited to, the 2023 State Convention in June.
- Ensure membership, County Party delegate list, individual delegate request & convention fee contribution data entry is completed accurately and in a timely manner
- Process memberships via mail and online in a timely manner and ensure membership data accuracy, making corrections as needed, and work with the finance team to make sure membership renewals are administered by mail and email.
- Staff a live help desk on the phone for our County Officers to ensure their questions and requests, especially regarding State Convention, are answered in a timely manner, and be the main point of contact for all other incoming calls and monitoring the voicemail inbox. Assign calls and messages to the appropriate departments within the phone line ticketing system.
- Monitor applicable email inboxes to ensure timely responses.
- On year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election-preparation as necessary.

Qualifications (Preferred):
- Technical Proficiency – Experience productively utilizing G-Suite and Microsoft Office in a work environment, especially Google Sheets/Microsoft Excel.
- County Party Ties – Previous experience effectively working with county party leaders and/or volunteers.
