Salary: $115,000-125,000/annually, generous benefits package

The Opportunity: As Digital Director, you will oversee the determination of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin’s digital strategy and–in collaboration with the Party’s senior leadership and external partners–manage the team executing that strategy to achieve the Party’s goals. This includes fundraising, volunteer mobilization, communications, issue advocacy, list growth, activation, and retention across digital platforms.
Job Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for digital grassroots fundraising, including maintaining and growing the WisDems monthly donor community.
- Oversee cultural events strategy, managing and growing relationships with celebrities and culture workers.
- Set digital communications framework for the organization, working closely with the WisDems Communications Director and other senior leadership.
- Develop and execute strategy to empower WisDems party units across the state with new digital tools, training, continued support, and best practices.
- Collaborate with Chair, Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director and senior leadership on how to leverage digital tools, training, and best practices to help supercharge work across the organization.
- Manage high level digital partnerships, and overall partners strategy (vendors, partner campaigns, allies groups, amplification networks, etc.).
- Set content strategy and standards, including but not limited to email, SMS, Facebook, Twitter, Google ads, digital ads, the WisDems website, virtual events, and other emerging platforms.
- Innovate to ensure digital fundraising and audience growth success by empowering and enabling a “culture of testing” within the department.
- Drive a departmental strategic planning process to set goals and develop programs, including; identifying staff capacity, building metrics to measure success, and creating systems to generate, disseminate, and learn from those metrics and run experiments to improve them.
- Manage direct reports in all aspects of their work and support their success in the role by conducting relevant coaching conversations, providing and receiving feedback, and creating an inclusive and engaging team culture. More specific tasks could include but are not limited to:
- Managing and reviewing time off requests
- Hiring new team members
- Having constructive conversations with team members on performance
- Building rapport and trust within your team
- Leading projects and delegating tasks
- On year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election-preparation as necessary.

- Past Digital Success – Proven track record growing and managing successful digital operations across multiple platforms, including email, SMS, Facebook (organic and paid), Twitter, Google ads, SEO, and other online properties with written, image, and video content to raise money, recruit volunteers, and drive voter engagement.
- Excellent Communication Skills – Outstanding writing and communication skills.
- Metrics Driven – Experience with digital metrics and experimentation.
- Political Aptitude – Demonstrated ability to navigate sensitive political and partner relationships.
- Budgeting Knowledge – Experience setting and managing large budgets.
Qualifications (Preferred):
- Experience in senior leadership at a major political organization or campaign, including cross-departmental collaboration .
- Knowledge of and/or experience working within the Wisconsin political landscape.
- Experience executing large-scale virtual events.
