Reports to: Coalitions Director
Salary: $50,000 – $60,000/annually, generous benefits package
Location: Madison, WI, Milwaukee, WI or elsewhere in Wisconsin
Start date: July 11th 2022

The Opportunity: As a LGBTQ+ Coalitions Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the Democratic Party of Wisconsin and Coordinated partners prioritize engaging with and mobilizing LGBTQ+ voters across the state of Wisconsin. You will be building and rebuilding relationships with urban, suburban, rural, BIPOC, Disabled, Faith and other intersecting LGBTQ+ communities on behalf of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.

Job Responsibilities:

  •  Manage and execute a WI LGBTQ+ focused outreach plan
  • Work with the Coalitions Director to determine best practices in organizing, voter protection efforts and engaging with communities across the state of Wisconsin.
  • Provide support for the LGBTQ+ caucus and construct innovative opportunities to increase LGBTQ+ representation in the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.
  • Maintain and build organized lists of contacts at state and local level
  • Actively seek opportunities to include and prioritize LGBTQ+ voices in DPW programming and local elected policy initiatives.
  • Host recurring meetings with LGBTQ+ community leaders across the state as well as local elected officials.
  • Provide context for memos and briefings for principals and high-level surrogates.
  • Additional tasks as instructed by the Coalitions Director.

  • Exceptional Interpersonal Skills – In particular, effectively building meaningful relationships with Elected officials, local influencers, government agencies, businesses, non-profits, or community organizations; customer service attitude; ability to communicate with people from many backgrounds.
  • Attention to Detail – Ability to manage details and stay on top of multiple tasks, large and small, at once.
  • Dedicated to Democratic Values – Deeply believes that racial equity and social justice are important and is driven to act on this belief.

Qualifications (Preferred):

  •  Demonstrated record of working with intersectional LGBTQ+ communities and leaders and advocating for LGBTQ+ issues.
  • Successful experience conducting outreach for a political campaign, government department, business, non-profit  or community organization.
  • Access to reliable transportation and/or willingness to travel statewide.
