The Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Martha Laning released the following statement in light of the Supreme Court of the United States rejecting Gov. Scott Walker’s appeal to keep Wisconsin’s restrictive abortion laws on the books:
“Today is a major victory for women across Wisconsin, as the Supreme Court rejected Gov. Scott Walker’s appeal to keep in place Wisconsin’s restrictive abortion laws, which are very similar to those in Texas that were found unconstitutional.
“A woman’s personal health care decisions should be made by a woman with her family, her faith, and with the counsel of her doctor. Today’s ruling highlights even further why why we must elect a Democrat like Hillary Clinton who will stand up for a women’s right to have access to quality reproductive health care.”
