ICYMI: Dems Pass Bill to Cap Insulin Costs, No Thanks to Wisconsin GOP

MADISON,  Wis. – While Democrats have worked to lower health care costs and expand access for working families across Wisconsin, the Republican Party is running on an agenda that will hike premiums, raise drug prices, and gut protections for people living with pre-existing conditions.

Just last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a historic bill to cap the price of insulin at $35, which will lower costs for the 392,965 Wisconsinites who have been diagnosed with diabetes and rely on this life-saving medication. Despite the bill passing with bipartisan support, every Wisconsin Republican in Congress voted against the bill – once again proving that the Wisconsin GOP values large corporations and the pharmaceutical industry over the families they’re supposed to represent.

Across the state, Wisconsinites are hearing about how Wisconsin Democrats delivered this win – no thanks to Republican Representatives Steil, Fitzgerald, Grothman, Tiffany, and Gallagher:

“Twelve Republicans joined all House Democrats on Thursday in voting for legislation that would cap the cost of insulin at 35 dollars per month, but Wisconsin’s Scott Fitzgerald, Tom Tiffany, Brian Steil, Glenn Grothman and Mike Gallagher all voted ‘no.’”
