DPW Statement on Anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid

(WISCONSIN) — Today, Democratic Party of Wisconsin spokesperson Philip Shulman released the following statement on the anniversary of the passage of Medicare and Medicaid:

“On the anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid, Trump is still continuing his relentless attacks on health care and pursuing a failed coronavirus response where he is more concerned with tweeting about bogus cures than pursuing a comprehensive testing strategy. Wisconsinites deserve a president who wants to expand Medicaid, not restrict it with onerous work requirements, and a president who works to protect Medicare, not threaten to slash its funding. Trump has mercilessly attacked these programs while using over $1 trillion in taxpayer dollars as a handout for the ultra wealthy and giant corporations. November 3 can’t come soon enough.”
