That didn’t take long! After Senator Johnson’s trip to Trump’s disastrous convention, he hurried out of Wisconsin again. This time he’s off to Vegas with his fellow Washington Republicans in a hunt for donor dollars. Johnson is in Las Vegas today attending a fundraiser with other Senate Republicans. He’s laser focused on courting more mega-donors, like Sheldon Adelson, who he depends on to fund his campaign. Senator Johnson is becoming a regular in Vegas. He visited in April to beg Sheldon Adelson to pour money into this reelection campaign.
“Senator Johnson must love to gamble; he went all in on Donald Trump, and now he’s off to Vegas to try and win more money from the multi-millionaires who support him. With Wisconsin Republicans like Charlie Sykes and Reid Ribble weary of Johnson’s support for Trump, his closest allies left are out of state billionaires. Senator Johnson has had no luck with Wisconsinites who are sick of the ‘Ronald and the Donald Show.’ Maybe he’ll have more luck with millionaires like himself in Vegas,” said Harry Hartfield, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Wisconsin.
