On this Sunday’s “Meet the Press,” Sen. Jeff Flake (R-AZ) admitted that Republicans’ refusal to do their job is just another political game for ultra-conservative lawmakers like Senator Ron Johnson. Flake said, “If we [Republicans] lose the election then we’ll have to approve him [Merrick Garland] quickly.”
The comments are just another reminder of Ron Johnson’s (and his ultra-conservative pals in Washington) hypocrisy when it comes to the Supreme Court. Sen. Johnson says he wants the voters to decide, even though poll after poll shows voters want the Senate to act now. But at this point, Johnson’s hypocrisy is just par for the course. Earlier this year he admitted that he would consider a SCOTUS nominee if Mitt Romney were president.
