Statement of DPW Chair Joe Wineke on September 11

Sep 10, 2008

MADISON – Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Joe Wineke today released the following statement on the anniversary of September 11:

“Today, on the anniversary of September 11, 2001, we all should take a break from partisan politics to honor the victims that lost their lives in New York City, at the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania seven years ago today.

“Now is a time for Americans of all beliefs and all political affiliations to come together and forget our differences. We must unite to pay respect to our service men and women serving our country overseas, and those protecting our homeland. We must also pay respect to the firefighters, cops and emergency responders who bravely responded to the terrorist attacks seven years ago.

“Today, let us honor those who lost their lives on September 11, and renew the spirit that united our country that fateful day.”
