CDW Applauds Signing of Hate Crimes Bill
MADISON – Yesterday’s signing of the hate crimes bill by President Obama marks the first national protections of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community in our history.
“This legislation is a long time coming, is major step in fighting violence against LGBT Americans,” said Justin Williams, LGBT Issues Director for the College Democrats of Wisconsin, “and this is the first step toward equal civil rights for the LGBT community.”
The College Democrats of Wisconsin applaud the President’s actions, and look for continued progress by the administration on this issue.
