Conservatives Slam Wall’s Tax Dodge Tour
Charlie Sykes: “Not great reviews to the debut of Terrence Wall.”
Madison, WI – Right-wing talk radio hosts Charlie Sykes, Jeff Wagner and Mark Belling gave multi-millionaire Terrance Wall’s tax dodging announcement tour three thumbs down as the Republican primary candidate wrapped up two days of private events that were closed to the public.
TMJ 620’s conservative talk show host Charlie Sykes conducted a blistering interview with Wall on Wednesday, commenting afterwards: “Not great reviews to the debut of Terrence Wall.”
Later in the show, Sykes and his conservative colleague Jeff Wagner, both agreed that Wall was “Not impressive.”
Over the last week, Wall has struggled with questions about the fact that he did not pay state income taxes in four of the last five years.
On Tuesday, Mark Belling, a right wing talk radio host on WISN 1130, said, “Very, very hard to run for the United States Senate when you haven’t paid income taxes in five years… How do you get to be a millionaire without paying any income taxes?”
Sykes asked Wall, “The reports that that you personally paid nothing in personal state income tax in four of the last five years. That’s going to be a problem, isn’t it?”
Wall responded, “I don’t think so.”
Sykes told Wagner, “Of course it’s going to be a problem,” and said, “You know, and the more you try to explain it, the more you’re essentially explaining that you live in a completely different fiscal environment than most of the working people of Wisconsin.”
