FB Friends No More?
Oddball Antics Scaring off Even Palin

MADISON-More than a month after their Facebook friendship became public and almost two weeks removed from a weird Wisconsin Dells trip that resulted in police being called, is half-term Gov. Sarah Palin souring on reality tee-vee star Sean Duffy?

Palin, the godmother of the so-called “Tea Party” movement, originally had given her blessings to Duffy, an appointee of Gov. Scott McCallum whose previous claim to fame was his appearance on “The Real World: Boston,” where the lawyer son, grandson, nephew and brother of lawyers created a persona for himself as a “northwoods lumberjack.”

But that was before the Duffy campaign got into a madcap fight with fellow Republican Dan Mielke at a Tea Party event in the Wisconsin Dells that resulted in a 911 call to police.

In a list of preferred Congressional candidates released this week on Palin’s Facebook site, Duffy was nowhere to be found.

“Fame is a fickle friend, but having parlayed an MTV reality television show appearance into a political appointment, Sean Duffy must already have known that,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Thursday.
