Misleads on Health Care Reform
MADISON — Janesville Republican Paul Ryan today released a deceptive statement about the funding of health care reform that also failed to highlight his plans to destroy Medicare.
Ryan’s plan to ration Medicare benefits for seniors has been largely discredited, but that hasn’t stopped the publicity-starved six-term Congressman from posing for partisan advantage on health care, including his statement today that failed to mention the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office’s assessment of billions in savings under the recently-passed reform.
“A true enemy of Medicare like Paul Ryan is entitled to his opposition to better health care for seniors,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Friday. “He is not entitled to make up facts about the very reform that is already lowering premiums, bringing benefits to seniors and allowing small businesses to negotiate better prices.”
