GOP candidate claims “There is no scientific
evidence that it exists.”
MADISON –Tomorrow, Wisconsin will celebrate Earth Day and honor the proud legacy of former Governor and U.S. Senator Gaylord Nelson – who created Earth Day 40 years ago. American Heritage Magazine hailed the event as “one of the most remarkable happenings in the history of democracy.”
Terrence Wall would put an end to Wisconsin’s proud tradition of protecting the environment and replace science with his own political pandering.
As the Wisconsin State Journal reported:
“Global warming is total, complete hogwash. There is no scientific evidence (that it exists),” Madison businessman Terrence Wall, candidate for U.S. Senate, told employees of Mead & Hunt at a recent campaign appearance, drawing some chuckles.”
And in February, Terrence Wall told Wisconsin Voice of Christian Youth’s (WVCY) “In Focus” program:
“I think that um, I’m, I am not at all, believing one cent of this whole global warming thing.
NASA scientists reported in January that the last 10 years were the hottest decade in over 2,000 years, with 2009 being the second warmest on record.
A recent CBS News/New York Times poll found only 5 percent of people agree with Wall that climate change doesn’t exist. Wall is also out of touch with members of his own party on the issue, including former Republican Party Presidential nominee John McCain and South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham, who has chastised his fellow Republicans for refusing to deal with climate change
“Terrence Wall would be a strong voice for polluters and special interests who don’t want to be held accountable,” said Mike Tate, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. “Instead of parroting anti-science propaganda and pandering to an extreme minority of climate change deniers, Wall would be better served learning about our Wisconsin values and our proud tradition of environmental protection.”
