Thousands More: Costs for Scott Walker’s Pension Scheme Just Keep Growing

MADISON — In yet another example of reckless budgeting, Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker has asked for more than half a million dollars to continue his plan to saddle future generations with $400 million in pension liabilities.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel today reported that Walker “unexpectedly” needs $578,000 from taxpayers to reprogram the Milwaukee County pension computer system, even though $10 million has already been spent on it.

“Just like outsourcing courthouse security to a sex criminal, this is another example of Scott Walker’s failed management,” said Mike Tate, Chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. “It’s bad enough that Scott Walker is saddling future generations with $400 million to close his pension fund deficit, but he adds insult to injury by running over budget to carry out his risky scheme.”
