MADISON-Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate upon the endorsement of Scott Walker:
“Is this the best they can do? In endorsing Scott Walker for governor, Wisconsin’s Republicans have put their trust in Wisconsin’s least trustworthy politician, a double-talker who will railroad Wisconsin’s working families. They are endorsing Scott Walker’s failure to create a single private-sector job, his reckless mismanagement that has brought Milwaukee County to the breaking point and exploded borrowing, and his refusal to take ANY responsibility for the disasters he has caused.
Scott Walker is a weak candidate with even weaker principles. He’s grasped at this endorsement since 2003 and the residents of Milwaukee County have paid the price for his say-anything ambition. In endorsing Scott Walker for governor, Republicans have cynically signed on to a phony who cannot be trusted, except to advance the causes of his big-money masters – all at the expense of those folks in Wisconsin who actually work for a living.”
