MADISON-Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on this year’s commemoration of Memorial Day:
“The comforts we Americans enjoy this weekend were paid for by the sacrifice of the men and women whose valor we must mark on Memorial Day. In graveyards across Wisconsin rest those whose heroism rings out through the ages, from the gun pits of Missionary Ridge to the back streets of Fallujah. On Memorial Day, we honor those now at peace and those still in harm’s way so that we might all be free.”
