Independent Source Exposes Train Claims
MADISON – An independent fact check has determined Scott Walker’s high-speed rail claims in his recent ad aren’t true.
The nonpartisan review found that Walker’s repeated and deceitful claims that these resources could be redirected to other purposes is false. The analysis also revealed that Walker has exaggerated the cost of the project by millions. His threats to rip up the tracks actually would cost Wisconsin taxpayers between $60 million-$100 million, and “would blow a large a hole in a new governor’s state budget.”
“Scott Walker is lying and this independent fact check proves it,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said. “This is just further proof that truth is the casualty to Scott Walker’s ambition, that Scott Walker is not someone who can be trusted and will say or do anything to try and get elected.”
