MADISON – In an effort to highlight key considerations for voters in the Fox Valley, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin last week launched its You Need to Know campaign. The series will share hard facts about Republicans Garey Bies, Andre Jaque, Karl Van Roy, Chris Hanson, John Klenke and Jim Steineke, facts voters must keep in mind when they go to the polls November 2nd.
So far, we’ve learned…
Fact #1: Jim Steineke of Kaukauna has pledged to repeal tax reforms that have clamped down on giant corporations that used legal loopholes to avoid paying their fair share, shifting more of the burden to middle-class Wisconsin families.
“Steineke has said it himself – his top priority is re-authorizing the corporate tax giveaways business bigwigs came to expect with Republicans in charge,” said Mike Tate, Chair of the DPW. “A win for Jim Steineke is a win for corporations – and a loss for Wisconsin’s middle class.”

Fact #2: Republicans like Karl Van Roy have the backing of big insurance companies, the same companies that hope to roll back legislative changes Democrats made to ensure Wisconsinites with pre-existing conditions and kids with special medical needs – including hearing loss and autism – get the medical care for which they’re paying good money.
“Time and again, Karl Van Roy is choosing big money special interests over the people he is running to represent,” said Tate. “On Election Day, voters should know where Van Roy stands – squarely on the side of the insurance companies.”
