Weasel Words in Milwaukee on Regressive Taxation, Fees
MADISON- Speaking to an audience of Milwaukee reporters Tuesday, Scott Walker defended his senior adviser who promoted a 50 percent hike in state sales tax rates and said that he does not consider increasing fees to be at all like increasing taxes. Defending his aide’s proposal, and after repeatedly telling the crowd that “nothing” was off the table, Walker said of his crony and the sales tax increase, ” “He’s talking about what options are on the table.”

“Scott Walker continues to provide few specifics about how he is going to pay for his massive tax cut for the richest one percent of Wisconsinites, but one thing is clear given his weasel words yesterday about sales taxes: Working people won’t see it coming,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Wednesday.
