Accountability A "Burden" For GOP, Scott Walker

MADISON-At a Thursday hearing, a GOP lawmaker testified that an effort to bring accountability to state government posed an undue “burden.”

Roger Rivard, a Rice Lake Republican, spoke in opposition to the accountability proposal at a hearing of the Rural Economic Development Committee.

“The days of accountability and clean and open government are at an end with Scott Walker and the Republicans in power,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Friday. “We knew they were going to shun accountability and grab power in secret. What we didn’t know is that they were going to talk about it out loud.”
