Scott Walker Again Urged to End Four-Year-Old Kindergarten

GOP Lawmaker Calls Program “An Insult.”

MADISON– Though it enjoys overwhelming support from parents in the more than 300 school districts in Wisconsin that offer it, state Sen. Glenn Grothman is calling 4-year-old kindergarten an “”insult” and is urging Scott Walker to end it as a way to finance tax cuts for the super-rich.

“Wisconsin always has valued education, but under Scott Walker our values are looking warped,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Thursday. “Eliminating school funding for four-year-olds to finance tax cuts for the wealthiest among us puts a fine point on Republican willingness to take Wisconsin backward, not forward.”
