MADISON– Paul Ryan’s proposals to privatize Social Security and eliminate Medicare and Medicaid in favor of an untenable “coupon” system have garnered a lot of national attention.
Activists with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin set out to talk to Ryan’s senior citizen constituents in Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional district to get their opinions on Ryan’s extreme plans.

“I don’t like him at all,” one senior citizen told Democrats outside the Kenosha Senior Center. “That guy’s nuts. He’s crazy. … He’s a multi-millionaire and he doesn’t give a damn about us.”
“Paul Ryan’s radical plans may play well to the Tea Party Express and the pundits on Fox News,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Thursday. “But Wisconsin seniors who worked hard all their lives with the promise that social safety net programs would be there in their retirement years say Ryan’s plans are crazy.”
