MADISON– Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate following Reid Ribble’s vote today in support of Paul Ryan’s “Path to Poverty” budget.
“Reid Ribble, who last week called for an examination of and possible end to multi-billion dollar subsidies for already profitable oil and gas companies, today stood with Paul Ryan in advancing the cause of Big Oil and those who least need protection at the expense of working families who are struggling to operate in an economy where only the richest seem to profit.
Ribble’s and Ryan’s nightmare vision of Wisconsin would see schools cut, Medicare ended, seniors put at risk, jobs shipped overseas, libraries closed and Wisconsin values put under undue stress.
With his vote today for Paul Ryan’s dangerous budget proposal that preserves corporate welfare at the expense of working families, Reid Ribble has proven that he values blind partisan allegiance over the needs of his constituents in the 8th Congressional District.
