DPW: Kapanke Terrified to Face the Voters

Plays Games with Democracy to Avoid Being Held Accountable in Recall Elections

MADISON — DPW Chairman Mike Tate issued the following statement today following news that senior-level RPW staff is conspiring to meddle in Democratic primaries to fix the recall election dates and protect Dan Kapanke from facing the voters this summer.

“First its frivolous lawsuits to delay recall elections, now it’s tampering with democracy to push back recalls.  Dan Kapanke is clearly terrified to face the voters this summer because he knows he turned his back on his constituents to rubberstamp Scott Walker’s extreme attacks on working and middle class families in Wisconsin.  There are 23,000 legitimate signatures of citizens in his district who signed petitions to recall Kapanke because he put Scott Walker and the special interests ahead of them.  They want democracy, not delays and dirty tricks.  It’s time for Kapanke to listen to the voters — for once.”
