MADISON-Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate following the Republican Assembly vote to delay unemployment benefits to Wisconsin job seekers.
“The vote by Republicans in the Assembly to delay unemployment benefits for Wisconsin workers is shameful. Here is further evidence that this is a party more interested in a rigid ideology than in dealing with the pain in a fragile economy still recovering from years of reckless Republican greed. These same Republicans voted to give tens of millions of dollars to their corporate patrons, whom I’m sure will not wait a second to collect their giveaways. Not content to pursue an agenda that will not create jobs for these jobless, the GOP has one message for job seekers in Wisconsin: Suffer now.”
