ICYMI: Scott Walker's False Budget Claims

Jul 05, 2011

MADISON-Scott Walker falsely claimed spending reductions in his radical budget that will cut a billion dollars from education while giving tax breaks to corporations that don’t need it.

That’s the report in The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which says Walker, “would increase overall spending by 1% over two years rather than reduce it as the administration had said earlier this month.”

“Scott Walker made his mark in Milwaukee by making false budget claims and now the central premise for his radical budget turns out to be another lie,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Wednesday. “It’s clear that Walker, and the Republicans in the Legislature who blindly support him, will use any justification they can to promote an out-of-touch agenda that takes from the middle class to give to the people who need it least.”
