MADISON – Scott Walker himself has admitted the likelihood of losing control over the State Senate next month, and now right-wing extremist groups and the Republican Party are flooding Wisconsin with out-of-state special interest money to try to protect Scott Walker and his six recalled Republican rubberstamps.
The Republican National Committee Friday announced its “all in” support for Scott Walker, viewed as a “rising star” on the national scene due to his radical spate of legislation that strips workers rights, cuts healthcare for seniors and working families and slashes $1.6 billion from public education.
A number of ultra-conservative religious groups have also joined the fray, using the August 9th recall elections as an opportunity to advance their anti-woman, anti-gay rights agenda in Wisconsin.
“It comes as no surprise that Scott Walker, the darling of the ultra far-right, who favors self-promoting trips to Washington DC over fighting for Wisconsin’s working families, has summoned the full financial backing of Republican leadership and extremist special interests,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Friday. “But the fact remains: Scott Walker’s radical agenda has failed, and no amount of out-of-state money will save Scott Walker and his recalled Republican Senators from being held accountable to the people of Wisconsin.”
