How Long Will Scott Walker and Paul Ryan Ignore Wisconsin’s Unemployment Crisis?
MADISON – Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate following today’s report from the Department of Workforce Development that Wisconsin’s jobless claims rose for the second month in a row, bringing the state’s unemployment rate to 7.9%.
“These latest unemployment numbers show that our middle class is in peril, yet Scott Walker and Paul Ryan continue to avoid the crisis. It’s long past time for this Republican Party to abandon its ideological crusade to advance radical social legislation and preserve tax breaks and subsidies for millionaires and billionaires. I once again urge Wisconsin’s GOP delegation to support and pass President Obama’s American Jobs Act that will immediately strengthen our economy and bring some sorely needed relief to struggling Wisconsin families.”
