MADISON-Tea Party Congressman Reid Ribble continues to use his office for personal political gain, this time promoting a “jobs fair” at the Fox Valley Technical College that he will leave early for a $1,000-per-head fundraiser.
Ribble has supported Scott Walker’s deep cuts to the state’s technical schools and in February voted against funding for the Workforce Investment Act, precisely intended to help job seekers.
Despite his inaction and inattention to jobs creation, Ribble has been widely promoting an Oct. 22 at the college set to run from 9-12 p.m.
But Ribble was set to attend a $1,000-per-head fundraiser at a nearby sporting club – with his remarks scheduled at 11:30 a.m.
“The jobless of the 8th Congressional District should consider themselves lucky if they get even a moment of Reid Ribble’s time. He’s spent his time in D.C. working on behalf of businesses controlled by his family and of industry groups that have given him sleazy campaign cash,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Thursday. “So what if he’s leaving a jobs fair early to hobnob with people who don’t need to work-and have $1,000 to send Ribble back to Washington to do their bidding.”
