MADISON — Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate in response to a new million-dollar TV ad purchased to defend Scott Walker’s $2.6 billion cuts to education.
“Schools, universities, colleges and technical schools across Wisconsin have absorbed historically vicious cuts to pay for Scott Walker’s warped priorities. Across Wisconsin, schools are closing, programs are being suspended and students are facing larger class sizes with fewer resources.
It is precisely because Scott Walker has attacked our system of public education so brutally that he is spending millions of dollars in sleazy corporate cash to warp the narrative and distract from his actual record.
Walker cannot be counted on to tell the truth. Whether it’s inflating jobs numbers, owning up to his campaign numbers or shooting straight about who actually stands to benefit from his massive corporate giveaways, his administration is steeped in dishonesty. This new ad represents more of the same.”
