MADISON-Following are the comments of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on the one-year anniversary of Scott Walker’s war on Wisconsin’s working families.
“A year ago today, on Dec. 7, 2010, Scott Walker the candidate gave the first glimpse of what Scott Walker the governor would do.
On the campaign trail, he never once mentioned ending collective bargaining rights for workers, much less the rest of his radical policies attacking education, health care and democratic rights. A year ago, he gave the first glimpse of his real plans, which he later described as dropping “the bomb” on Wisconsin.
Even a year ago, Walker was not totally honest about his plans, couching his real agenda in weasel language that, we found out later, was meant to deceive.
Wisconsin may never learn the depths of the dishonesty behind Scott Walker’s plans, but, a year after he began his sneak attack on Wisconsin, a grassroots movement is well on its way to stopping it.”
