MADISON-Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate in response to the partisan report of Scott Walker’s “Waste, Fraud and Abuse” Commission.
“Scott Walker’s Republican campaign document, which was set forth by Republican supporters without a single vote of the commission as a whole, shows that he is committed to further waste, fraud and abuse by putting decisions once in the hands of experts into the hands of political supporters.
Whether it’s smokescreens on education or jobs, Scott Walker is in the midst of a careful rollout of phony programs not meant to help the people of Wisconsin, but meant to create a false narrative about his disastrous term in office. If he were really committed to reducing waste, fraud and abuse, he would have allowed lawmakers to tackle the real problems that his own administration has caused. As the John Doe corruption probe has made clear, Walker runs government as an adjunct to his campaign, and not for the people he has sworn to serve. This latest “report” underscores his dishonesty.”
