Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate regarding the recent endorsement by the Party’s administrative committee of Mahlon Mitchell as candidate for lieutenant governor. Mitchell is a Lieutenant in the Madison Fire Department and president of the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin.
“Mahlon Mitchell is the true Democrat in the race for lieutenant governor and we are proud to stand behind him as he campaigns for the working families of Wisconsin and against the culture of job loss, division and criminal corruption that have marked Scott Walker and Rebecca Kleefisch’s time in office. As Walker and Kleefisch’s forces sow confusion and distortions, Democrats should know that it is Mahlon Mitchell who will stand up and defend those values and freedoms that have made Wisconsin great. We know Mahlon will bring the “All Hands Working” ethos of the fire service to the statehouse and will work to bring our state’s leaders together to create jobs, protect our schools, and create opportunity for all Wisconsinites.”
