A day after he was exposed in a video vowing to a billionaire donor that he would kill private-sector unions with “Right-to-Work-for-Less” legislation, Scott Walker used weasel words at the Republican Party of Wisconsin’s annual convention.
Walker, who introduced Right-to-Work-for-Less legislation in 1993, refused to answer reporters’ questions over whether he would veto the legislation, instead telling reporters he would “do everything” in his power to prevent it from reaching his desk.
“Scott Walker’s refusal to veto Right-to-Work-for-Less legislation shows that he was telling the truth to his billionaire donor. Saying he would do “everything in his power” is absolutely meaningless. He has been exposed to the people of Wisconsin as someone who won’t tell them the truth, and now he uses weasel words after he has been caught red-handed in his plots,” said Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on Saturday.
