Washington millionaire banker Eric Hovde told a crowd yesterday that he regretted complaining about the reporting of “sob stories” of poor people — but that didn’t stop his 1 percent campaign from raising campaign cash over his out-of-touch comments.
News reports about Hovde’s hypocrisy can be found here and here.
“A Washington banker born into wealth with multiple mansions might think that what the middle class is going through is little more than a ‘sob story. Hovde must not regret his out-of-touch comments if he’s willing to turn around and raise money with a spirit of phony outrage that shows he’s more of a typical politician than we ever knew,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Friday.
