NBC26 (WGBA) reports on a round-table discussion local seniors had yesterday expressing their disgust over Tommy Thompson’s sweetheart deal for drug companies and his plans to voucherize Medicare.
The seniors spoke of Sec. Thompson’s sweetheart deal with drug companies, which made it illegal for the government to negotiate for lower prescription drug costs as part of Medicare Part D and how that pushed extra costs onto seniors and taxpayers. Thompson later left government work to cash in and work as a lobbyist for the very same companies profiting from the deal.
The seniors also condemned Thompson’s plans to repeal current prescription drug rebates, re-opening the “donut hole” he helped to create.
