"Struggling" Sean Duffy's $100K Gift to Himself: He Profits While Throwing Middle Class Under the Bus

Oct 25, 2012

Following is the statement from Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on news that “Struggling” Sean Duffy was reimbursed more than $100,000, much of it at taxpayers’ expense, since taking office, including costs for staying in hotels in his district regardless of the fact he owns three houses in the area.

“Despite his claims otherwise, recent reports showing Sean Duffy billed Wisconsin taxpayers for unneccessary costs like hotel stays in his district where he owns no less than three homes, it’s clear he’s no fiscal watchdog — instead, he’s a financial liability with no care or concern for the residents of the 7th Congressional District or their tax money that he’s wasting. Misusing taxpayer funds the way Duffy has been is frightening. Wisconsin and the residents of the 7th District deserve more than just lip service — they deserve a representative in Congress who will do what they say once in office, not just say what will get them elected and reverse direction once there.”
