Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate in response to Rep. Peter Barca’s re-election as Democratic Leader in the Wisconsin Assembly.
“Wisconsin Assembly candidates got some 200,000 more votes than their Republican counterparts in no small part because of the leadership of Peter Barca. Through thick and thin, Peter has been a voice of moderation against a radical Republican onslaught. Going into the next session, we know that Peter will put his foot down when he needs to, but will also find areas of compromise when it comes to investing in education, achieving tax fairness and making it so that Wisconsin enjoys in the economic recovery now being experienced by our neighbors. Congratulations, once again, to Leader Barca.”
