Ron Johnson Huddles With Lobbyists, D.C. Insiders To Plan Second Run

Calling on his “kitchen cabinet” of Washington lobbyists and Republican money men, current Republican U.S. Senator Ron Johnson is formulating a plan for his reelection attempt, according to The Hill newspaper. 

“It’s no surprise that Ron Johnson is counting on Washington money to support his desire to stay in office. So much for ‘citizen legislator,’” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Monday. “Johnson’s supporters live in Washington, breathe Washington, and have no connection to the Wisconsin people he’s supposed to represent. This is a man who has clearly embraced the politics of big money.”

Johnson, who spent over eight million dollars to fund his own election in 2010, is now turning to lobbyists in Washington to financially support his next attempt. 

Johnson’s U.S. Senate office confirmed that he is fundraising for another run.
