Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate commemorating Labor Day 2013.
“Like so many of you, the word Labor means a lot more to me than just a few short years ago.
“Our current state of affairs has given us a deeper appreciation for what our parents and grandparents’ generation accomplished for us and a renewed commitment to economic equality and justice.
”So today, if you are lucky enough to not be working, enjoy your family and friends and take a deep breath. Because tomorrow we go back to work fighting for justice, equality, fair pay, safe working conditions, collective bargaining and the ability for every American no matter where or to whom you’re born to be able to live out the American dream.”
