Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on Court of Appeals’ rejection of DOJ’s politically motivated argument.
“The Court made the right decision to reject the Department of Justice’s attempt to protect Scott Walker and his political allies. Sadly, the Attorney General again refused to defend the rights of Wisconsin citizens.
“With a second John Doe investigation targeting top Republican leaders and their staff for possible criminal activities, the public deserves to know exactly what Scott Walker and his staff were doing on government time. There is a disturbing pattern of unethical behavior that has consistently surrounded Scott Walker throughout his career, and it is time for light to be shed on his numerous secrets.
“Strong Democratic candidates will present a clear alternative in 2014 to Scott Walker’s brand of unethical and corrupt politics, and I believe voters will reject his politics in favor of restoring transparency, accountability, and integrity to both the Governor’s office and the Attorney General’s office.”
