Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne’s decision to run for Attorney General.
“As an attorney, administrator, and now as the chief prosecutor in Wisconsin’s second largest county, handling tens of thousands of cases per year, Ismael Ozanne has always dedicated his career to serving the public honorably and defending our state Constitution.
“So it’s great news that he has decided to enter the race for Attorney General and offer Wisconsinites an alternative to the type of Tea Party extremism that has held such a tight grip on justice here in Wisconsin.
“We are confident that our open primary process will yield the strongest possible candidate next year.”
