Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on Jefferson County District Attorney Susan Happ’s announcement of her candidacy for Attorney General.
“Wisconsinites deserve an alternative to the type of extremism that has suffocated the flames of justice here in Wisconsin. That’s why I am thrilled that another experienced leader has announced their candidacy for Attorney General.
“As a privately practicing attorney and District Attorney of Jefferson County, Susan Happ has worked with both sides of the aisle to prosecute offenders and keep our communities safe. Wisconsin voters need an experienced, independent defender of justice who will put our state’s public safety first.
“We are confident that our open primary process will yield the strongest possible candidate next year.”
