Following is the comment of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on the Republican Party of Wisconsin’s convention this weekend in Milwaukee.
“As Scott Walker and his Republican Party rally in Milwaukee this weekend, they’ll make clear there’s no longer room for moderates in their party – or for policies that actually benefit middle-class families. Because while Wisconsin ranks 9th out of 10 Midwestern states on job creation, Republicans are talking about secession and publicly shaming members of their own party who dared to support higher educational standards for our kids. Given Scott Walker’s preference for wealthy special interests and the extreme right-wing of his base, it’s easy to understand why most Wisconsinites think Scott Walker doesn’t care about them.”
