Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate commemorating Memorial Day 2014:
“The courage of generations past and yet to come has bought our freedoms, so as Wisconsin families enjoy a weekend of leisure, let us be reminded of the true reason for our celebrations — to honor the brave women and men who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.
“And as we remember their noble service, let us not forget that while we’ve made great progress there are still far too many servicemen and women in harm’s way protecting our freedoms.”
