Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate on Judge Crabb’s ruling:
“Today’s historic ruling that every Wisconsinite now has the freedom to marry the person they love is the dawn of a new era.
“The defeat of this hateful law that enshrined discrimination into our Constitution is a monumental victory for our gay and lesbian brothers and sisters who finally are recognized as full and equal citizens under the law, and it is a rallying cry for the best of what we can be as Wisconsinites.
“We now call on Scott Walker and J.B. Van Hollen to respect the rule of law and abandon any further attempts to prevent a single Wisconsinite from marrying the person they love.”
