On July 10, 2014, in his ongoing attempt to distract from his dismal failure to live up to his promise to create 250,000 jobs, Scott Walker made a new promise that Wisconsin’s unemployment rate would hit 5.5% by this Labor Day.
A month later, it looks like its going to be another broken promise from Scott Walker.
New figures released from Walker’s own administration today show the unemployment rate is once again headed in the wrong direction – UP. Unemployment jumped to 5.8%, meaning thousands of more Wisconsinites are unemployed and looking for work.
How did Walker’s respond?
Did he finally come out with his long promised jobs plan? A plan that will explain how he will ramp up job creation enough to reach his 250,000 promise by the end of his second term – four year later?
No – Scott Walker’s response was to attack Mary Burke for an unemployment rate that was 4.7% when she was Commerce Secretary.

“If broken promises and political cheap shots were jobs Scott Walker would be a lot closer to his central campaign promise to create 250,000 new jobs in his first term,” Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate said Friday. “But since they’re not, we’re still dead last — 10th out of 10 states — in the Midwest on job creation and Scott Walker has no plan to change that.”
