Following is the statement of Democratic Party of Wisconsin Chair Mike Tate in recognition of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
“As we today honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his legacy let us remember that while we’ve made progress towards fulfilling his dream, the fight for equal opportunity and social and economic justice is not over. Today, and every day, we must re-commit ourselves to protecting the rights of every American at the ballot box, to eradicating the ills of child poverty and income inequality in the richest nation in the world, and to creating a society where everyone is guaranteed equal treatment under the law.”
